Postponement of NECTM8 due to the COVID-19 pandemic
Dear colleagues,
In view of the continued spread of Sars-CoV2/Covid-19, the (travel) restrictions imposed by many European governments and the fact that everyone involved in infectious diseases, public health and travel medicine is currently extremely busy dealing with this emergency, we feel that we do not have another option but postponing the 8th Northern European Conference on Travel Medicine (NECTM8). We are aiming for rescheduling the conference to spring/first half 2022 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
We stay committed to organising a high-quality multi-faceted programme in the field of travel medicine and related disciplines that brings together hospital clinicians, general practitioners, nurses, as well as public health experts and other professional groups. We kindly ask for your continued patience and understanding as we explore the financial implications of postponing the event. We are currently looking into new dates and will keep you updated over the next weeks. We understand there might be practical questions arising, e.g. around reimbursement of already-paid registration fees, or else. We will be dealing as timely as possible with those, please kindly bear with us if responses to respective questions can only be answered with some delay.
We sincerely thank all registered participants, respected speakers and sponsors for their support to NECTM8. We hope that we can count on your commitment and flexibility in this challenging time and we are confident that with your support we will make NECTM8 possible.
Please allow us to take this opportunity to express our solidarity to those affected by COVID-19 and our support to those working to fight the pandemic.
With kind regards,
Helena Hervius Askling,
for the Steering Group
Martin P. Grobusch,
for the Scientific Committee
Debora Wattel,
